Roger Logan is a senior healthcare transactions and operations specialist with more than 35 years of experience in health services administration. Currently, Roger serves as President and CEO of Logan Consulting Group, a specialized consulting firm focused on healthcare transactions or service operations, physician–health system affiliations, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory and legal support services. His transactional work encompasses the clinical, operational, financial, regulatory and public relations considerations of complex healthcare operational and transactional matters.
As an appraiser and technical consultant Roger provides advice to health systems, medical groups, law firms and federal, state and local courts related to health care compliance, valuations, and litigation services (including qui tam, fraud and abuse, private inurement, anti-kickback, etc. legal matters).
Roger has recently served as Senior Vice President of Phoenix Children’s Hospital and as the Chief Administrative Officer of Phoenix Children’s Medical Group, Roger responsible for a 300 plus physician and provider group and a variety of financial and business transactions, especially related to physician and adult system affiliations and integration initiatives. He also served as a Board Member of the Phoenix Children’s Care Network, an 850 plus member pediatric specialty clinically integrated network of physicians, hospitals and health services entities.
Prior to work with Phoenix Children’s, Roger was Corporate Vice President for Physician Affiliations and Network Development for Mercy Health (formerly Catholic Health Partners) responsible for operational, clinical and financial oversight of the employed and affiliate physician networks; special health system financial and business transactional services (i.e., M&As, physician compensation and transactional valuations, and physician affiliation and network development) for this Ohio based health system.
In addition, Roger has served as a chief executive or administrative officer of a number primary care, specialty and multi-specialty medical groups thought the Midwest.
Roger is a recognized frequent speaker at national, regional and local professional associations and organizations on healthcare business and compensation valuations, complex compliance and regulatory matters and other related topics. The American Society of Appraisers’ Health Care Special Interest Group enjoys Roger as a recurrent faculty member.
He is also a member of the American College Healthcare Executives, American Hospital Association, Health Lawyers Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Medical Group Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and American Society of Appraisers. Roger earned both his undergraduate degree in accounting and graduate degree in hospital and health services administration from The Ohio State University. Roger is a CPA and accredited in Advance Business Valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and as an Accredited Senior Appraiser (Business Valuation) by the American Society of Appraisers.
